Oh my gosh, I’m retired! Yes, as of May 2014, after teaching Special Education for 30 years, I’m retired. And I love it!!! Every day is the weekend!!! Now I can do all those things that I was either too tired or never had the time to do after a 10 – 12 hr school day. And adding Every Day is the Weekend to The Virtual Vine will allow me to share my adventures with you. Because I’m never bored.
If you’re in a hurry, just take a peek at some of the posts below to see some of what I’ve been up to.
I think as you get older you sort of get a little AADD. That’s Age Attention Deficit Disorder. So I tend to flit from one thing to another … as quickly as a new idea pops into my mind, which also means I have multiple projects going on at any given time. My husband says I’m never satisfied with anything. I tell him that’s the teacher in me … we’re trained to always strive for improvement. It doesn’t matter what, there’s always room to improve.
So today I might be excited about the new teaching resources I’ve just created and by the afternoon I’ll be wound up about a new book I found to read. Just ask my family and friends and they’ll tell you I love all the planning for get-togethers, crafting, decorating, cooking, making cards, traveling, whatever. I spend way too much time on Pinterest! So those are just some of the things I’d like to share with you here at Every Day is the Weekend. And yeah, I might squeeze in a picture or two, every once in a while, of my two adorable grandkids.
School stuff is organized separately to save time
You can click on any of the links or drop down boxes to the right or top to navigate through the site. I’ve organized it where the SCHOOL stuff is separate from the rest to save you teachers time.
And for those who don’t already know me, we live in the Deep South where it’s a perpetual bad hair day … hot & humid most of the time, but the people are friendly and there are lots of cows.
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to say hi!
