End of the Year Activities for Kindergarten and First Grade
Bingo
Bingo is a great game for the end of the year! It’s great for reviewing skills that you’ve covered throughout the year and you can make it even more fun by adding fun game pieces like small pieces of candy, cereal, seashells, sea glass, summer themed mini erasers, or buttons.
And since you’re reviewing skills you don’t even have to be involved! Let the kids be the teacher!
Let them take turns being the caller and checking for the winner. They’ll have so much fun while you’ll have some time to finish packing up your room, clean, or organize!
And if you let the winners visit the treasure box or win a small prize they’ll want to play every day!
Here are some bingo games that are perfect for the End of the Year! Just add some mini seashells, Fruit Loops (flotation devices), mini sun, flip flop, ice cream cone, or beach ball erasers as counters for fun!
Writing Activities
Summer Writing Activities is the last set of writing activities / picture prompts for this product line. They will be added to a bundle that will include writing activities for all year long.

Digital Activities
I know after the pandemic a lot of teachers moved away from digital learning. So now might be a good time to plug back into technology for a bit. Offer it as a choice for students to choose from as an activity and see how many are interested again. They could play as small groups or as a class.
Here are some digital activities that would work well for the end of the year:

End of the Year Countdown
Because your kids aren’t hyped up enough about the end of the year (insert major sarcasm here :D), and yourself as well, why not do an End of the Year Countdown?
It will give the kids a visual as to how many days are left in the year and add some fun into each day.
I’ve not done this with my own students, but recently saw it online. I’m sure there are many free activities already created, just Google ABC Countdown Ideas. Some are probably even editable so you can even change them to better suit your needs.
You just need a blank calendar with a letter in each square then you choose something that begins with that letter to do for each day. For instance, on A day you might eat apple slices, have everyone bring their favorite apple snack, or have everyone wear antennas. You make it as simple or as complicated as you want. And if the alphabet is too much to deal with, just do a simple number countdown and do something fun each day.
The fun stuff that you do is most likely how the kids will remember you, so end your year with smiles!
