Ever wish you had a few extra sets of hands? Now you can! Use Who can help? in your pocketchart, along with photos of your students who can assist in zipping, tying and buttoning to create a pictograph. Students needing assistance with those skills reference the graph for helpers, therefore freeing up your time for more important jobs.
Who can help? Zipping, Tying, Buttoning Pocketchart and Printable
Print the Who can help? pocketchart pieces or printable on cardstock, laminate and cut out for durability.
To use the pocketchart pieces: Place the title pieces Who can help? across the top of the pocketchart. You have a choice of two sets of cards to use for the skills: button, tie, zip. You can choose the cards with the white background or the cards with the yellow background. Place those down the left side of the pocketchart. To complete the Who can help? pictograph, you will need photos of your students who can tie, button and zip. Place their photos in the correct column to match the skill in which they are proficient.
When your students need assistance with tying, zipping and buttoning, they check the Who can help? pictograph and see who they can go to for help. Now you have helpers to assist in those skills you don’t have time for, the helpers get extra practice, and you get a lighter work load to focus on more important matters!
If you choose not to use the pocketchart, there is also a printable pictograph that works in the same way except that the skills are at the bottom of the page instead of the side.
If you don’t have access to a pocketchart, another option would be to use magnets on a magnetic board or to glue the pieces to a foam or poster board.
