Y’all, my friend, Shrya, who teaches kindergarten, asked me to create some new ocean math mats 0 – 20 for her. She wanted them to go with her new Under the Sea Counters. It took me a minute to figure out what I could possibly do, then decided that I could use some of the graphics from Bryn’s Swim emergent reader that we’d done in the past. Finally, I asked Carol to change up some of the graphics and between the two of us we came up with these too cute Ocean Math Mats 0 – 20!
Print Your Own Ocean Math Mats 0 – 20
I updated the Ocean Math Mats from the ones shown above and created two new sets. One half page set for smaller counters and one full page set for larger counters. This is the half page Ocean Math Mats. They are ideal for providing students a designated workspace as well as giving them the opportunity to engage in learning that gets them up and out of their seats which promotes more on-task behavior and fewer behavior disruptions. (Full page mats coming soon!)
You can purchase the Ocean Math Mats here.

This file contains 5 differentiated pages of cute Ocean Writing Paper so you’ll have your choice of just what you need to make your learners successful. Your non writers can draw, then there are pages for students to draw and write, and lastly pages for just writing. These are great for an Ocean Writing Center or Station or to use as part of an Ocean Research Project.
Update: This Ocean Writing Paper file had to be updated to meet the TOU of the clip artist. So it now includes even more writing activities! You’ll love all the different kindergarten and first grade ocean writing activities you’ll get for free! Just hit the download button below!
If you’re doing an Ocean Unit and want some more Ocean ideas, you might want to check out my Ocean Alive page at The Virtual Vine. It hasn’t been updated in years, but you might still find some things there that you can use, because as I’m finding out here lately … things online are a lot of what’s been around for years .. it’s just being restyled and rehashed. Sometimes I can’t believe what I’m seeing! 😀
